Fake parcel company Telegram call with reservation code

What happens

Scammers pose as a parcel company and call through Telegram, using a reservation code to look real. They try to get victims to share codes or details so they can take money or access accounts.

Warning signs

• Company calling through Telegram The call comes through the Telegram app under the name OMNIVA, and parcel companies do not normally phone people through Telegram.
• Live call already in progress The screen shows the call has been running for 20 seconds, so the caller is already talking to you and may be trying to get information out of you quickly.
• Unrelated reservation code The card shows a reservation code CC•• •••• 49EE linked to RIMI, a supermarket chain, which does not match an Omniva parcel and may be used to make the call seem real.
• Pressure to act now Calls like this often rush you to give a code or confirm details before you have time to think.

How this scam works

1. The caller pretends to be a well-known parcel or shop company and uses its name on the call screen.
2. They use a real-looking reservation or parcel code to make the call seem genuine.
3. They ask you a few questions or say you must confirm something quickly.
4. They try to get a one-time code, card details or a payment out of you.
5. The criminals use the code or details to take your money or access your accounts.

What to do

1. Don't answer any more questions and don't say any codes or details out loud. Hang up now.
2. Don't press any buttons on the call or tap any link the caller mentions.
3. Take a screenshot of this call screen and keep it, so you have proof.
4. Report it to Omniva through its official app or website, and to your local police. If you shared a code or any card details, call your bank straight away and report it to your local police.
